I'm also open to ideas on how to command this phone to use my mobile data to download the updates. (And the manual wouldn't say anything about Ethernet.) I would like to calibrate and profile it mainly for gaming. It natively runs at 60Hz when in PC mode but many TV settings are greyed out in this mode.
How to enable Ethernet on the S7? I have to think that the phone wouldn't even show the Ethernet option if there were no drivers for it. Im trying to calibrate a Samsung 6640H HDTV with a Spyder3 colorimeter. Samsung's manual for the G930U makes it sound like doing Ethernet is the easiest thing in the world:īut the problem is that there ARE no prompts, the Ethernet option is grayed out and tapping it has no effect other than making the tapping sound. I bought a MiniUSB-to-Ethernet adapter to see if that made it light up, but there was no change. So the S7 has an Ethernet option in Settings -> More connection settings, but the option is grayed out. And cannot set the notification sounds, theyre all grayed out as well. I used to receive calls, not sure what changed. I cannot turn on call notifications, receive 1:1 calls, or receive group calls in app settings. (I'd rather not go to some random WiFi network at a store.) Option to turn on call notifications and receive calls is greyed out in settings. The problem is that the wife is extremely concerned about possible long-term health issues related to wireless signals, and I would like to keep the peace by doing the updates either by mobile data or by Ethernet. You can turn on the smartphone's Mobile Hotspot to keep your Tablet. You can authenticate your Tablet/PC with your smartphone, share content between devices, and sync notifications or view contents from your smartphone on your Tablet/PC.
Plug a USB cable into your vehicle’s USB port and plug the other end of the cable into your Android phone. Make sure your car is in park (P) and allow time to set up Android Auto before you start your drive. However, starting last week I've been getting notifications about software updates being available, and even though I have ample mobile data, it seems to be impossible to download the updates that way, it keeps asking to do it via WiFi. Samsung Flow is a software product that enables a seamless, secure, connected experience across your devices. For best results, keep Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Location Services turned on during setup.
